The Costa del Sol is considered the ideal location in which to hold large conferences and conventions. Over the last few years the competitive infrastructure that is needed to guarantee the success of these events has been established and a vast number of organisations are capable of catering to the specific demands of these kinds of events, whilst being able to attend to the additional leisure and social requirements of the participants and their companions. Many professional sectors from all countries within the European Community regularly choose the Costa del Sol in which to hold their big conferences and conventions. Notably big events in the past include ABTA 1999 or DRV 2000. Companies, financial organisations, political groups and social organisations all choose to come here simply because the outstanding facilities are superbly complemented by the additional benefits of the tourist developments here in the Costa del Sol.

The proximity of an International airport, with over five hundred flights per day and ten million passengers each year, combined with a port that has experienced a big increase in cruise traffic over the last few years, have benefited the huge variety of complementary services already on offer and helped to establish the Costa del Sol as one of the most competitive locations for large conferences and conventions in Europe. Complementary services include; over fifty professional golf courses, spaces of outstanding natural beauty where you can go walking or practise outdoor pursuits, an exciting nightlife, excellent restaurants, casinos and more (additional information is available in other sections).

Apart from the tremendous range of hotels on offer, there are also three purpose built conference halls and an auditorium, all with excellent facilities.

Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones de la Costa del Sol:
This architecturally praised building can be found 4 km from the airport and is very close to the main road which runs through the Costa del Sol. It has a variety of halls which can hold 50 to 500 people, more than five thousand square metres of exhibition space in two levels and car parking for over 600 cars. This versatile structure can easily facilitate any kind of event up to almost any size. The conference halls are equipped with fixed and wireless microphones, slide projectors and overhead projectors, video monitors and screens, loudspeakers, facilities for simultaneous translation in five languages and a digital telephone centre with more than 300 extensions.

Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Marbella:
Very well situated in the city centre of Marbella - a central location for this kind of facility, in close proximity to various leisure opportunities - and has very good connections with hotels and shopping centres. This new building can hold conferences, conventions, symposiums, seminars, exhibitions, meetings and most other public events. It has over ten thousand square metres of space and can hold a maximum capacity of three thousand people. The main conference hall has over two hundred seats with reading desks and is equipped with the latest audio-visual technology such as giant video screens, all manner of projectors and the equipment to aid simultaneous translation for eight languages.

Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos de Estepona:
This is a multi-purpose pavilion set in attractive surroundings. It has over 3,000 square metres of space, audio systems, music, closed-circuit tv, complementary lighting and excellent security. Its main exhibition area can accommodate fifteen stands each at twelve square metres, fully fitted with computers, show cases, displays etc.

Auditórium Municipal de Torremolinos :
This building has adequate facilities for multifunctional events, from conferences to banquets. It has spaces for 1700 seats and two hundred more in private VIP boxes which can be removed if a larger area is required. It also has excellent sound and lighting.

Hotel Torrequebrada (Benalmádena):
As well as their excellent casino and golf course, this hotel has ten fully equipped conference rooms which can hold a capacity of five hundred people in total. They also cater for cocktail parties and banquets.

The Westin La Quinta Golf Resort (Marbella):
The convention centre adjacent to this luxurious hotel consists of a reception area for cocktail parties or refreshments and a main hall. This fully equipped hall can hold a capacity of two hundred and fifty and can be divided into three separate areas.

Hotel Coral Beach (Marbella):
This very luxurious establishment is situated in Marbella and has a very mediterranean atmosphere. Its main attraction is the vast number of conference rooms it has available. There are thirty six rooms in total, with a maximum capacity of 180 people.

Hotel Don Carlos (Marbella):
This hotel has ten conference rooms each with a full range of facilities. In total they have the capacity to seat one thousand people. They can also cater for cocktail parties or banquets.

Hotel Meliá Torremolinos:
Situated very close to the airport, this hotel has four conference rooms and has an overall capacity of four hundred.

Hotel Las Dunas (Estepona):
This is one of the most luxurious hotels on the Costa del Sol. It is in an exceptional location and boasts its own spa. It has a main hall that can seat eighty people and a number of smaller rooms for banquets with a total maximum capacity of two hundred and fifty people.

Hotel Kempinski (Estepona):
A luxurious hotel with an arabic-andalusian influence and is surrounded by sub-tropical gardens. There are two halls that can seat 280 and 120 respectively.

 Hotel Meliá Don Pepe (Marbella):
This hotel is in an excellent situation and has five conference halls that can hold a maximum of three hundred and fifty people.

Hotel Sol Elite Aloha:
Located on the sea front of Torremolinos, this hotel also has the advantage of being situated close to the airport. There are two halls that can seat 350 and 125 respectively. They can also cater for cocktail parties or banquets and have an excellent reputation for the quality of their local specialities.

Hotel Le Meridien Los Monteros (Marbella):
A luxurious hotel with a well equipped convention centre that can hold a maximum capacity of 300 people.

Hotel Puente Romano (Marbella):
This exclusive hotel complete with sub-tropical gardens has seven conference rooms and can seat a total of 160 people.

Hotel Byblos (Mijas):
Also known for the quality of its relaxation centre, this luxurious hotel has six halls and the capacity to hold 300 people.

Hotel El Paraíso (Marbella):
Two halls with a capacity of 180 and 50 people.

Almenara Hotel Golf (Sotogrande):
Luxurious surroundings, two fully equipped halls with a capacity of 120 and 100 people.

Hotel Costa del Sol Princess (Estepona):
Two well equipped halls with a capacity of 237 and 100 people.

Hotel Andalucía Plaza (Marbella):
This hotel is very close to Puerto Banús and has the added attraction of an in-house casino. They have nine big halls that can hold almost six hundred people.

Don Miguel Golf & Sport (Estepona):
Surrounded by fifty thousand square metres of gardens, this exceptional convention centre has twenty eight halls with a maximum capacity of 1500 people. They can also provide an excellent catering service.

La Cala de Mijas:
This establishment, located between two golf courses, has two conference halls with a capacity of 100 and 75 people.

Hotel El Fuerte (Marbella):
Located in the centre of Marbella, this hotel has nine well equipped conference halls with a total capacity of 470 people.

Hotel Marbella Club:
A Luxurious hotel with its own sub-tropical gardens and beach, has four halls with a capacity of 172 people.

Hotel Alay (Benalmádena):
This hotel has a superb convention centre consisting of fourteen multi-purpose halls, two of which have a capacity of 700 people and three a capacity of 200.

Hotel Tryp Guadalmar (Torremolinos):
This hotel is situated very close to the airport and its ten well equipped conference rooms can hold a maximum of 350 people.

Hotel Guadalmina (Marbella):
Situated in a prime location, close to Puerto Banús. This hotel has a multi-purpose conference hall with a capacity of four hundred people and a smaller hall with natural lighting that has a capacity of 130 people.

Hotel Atalaya Park, Golf & Resort (Estepona):
This convention centre has eleven halls, one with a maximum capacity of six hundred people, another of four hundred people and two of about a hundred people. It can also supply catering.

Hotel La Bobadilla:
This hotel is a splendid recreation of an Andalusian village and has a very highly rated restaurant. The convention hall can seat 120 people and has an additional boardroom for 20 people.

Hotel Albayzin del Mar (Almuñécar):
This hotel is situated in Granada and has four conference halls with a capacity between fifty and two hundred people.

Parador de Golf:
This hotel is situated very close to the airport and is part of the national public tourist hotel network. It has one conference hall with a capacity of three hundred people, three more with a capacity of sixty, thirty and twenty five respectively. The hotel has a very good reputation for fine foods and local specialities. All rooms are fully equipped and catering for banquets or cocktail parties is available.
